This cactus is Pilosocereus pachycladus, from the hot, arid region of eastern Brazil, in Minas Gerais and Bahia states. Notice that the flowers only bloom on the side facing the sun. These plants were sprouted from seeds during a succulent&cactus class at OCC in 2012, so they are about 14 years old. Help yourself to seeds from the open seed pods.
