The story of the mural on the garage

Our son Glen was taken from us by melanoma in 2015 at the age of 25.

At one point during the ten days we had him home for hospice, he said that he wanted his remains to go to space.

We figured it out. There is a company called Celestis, which has agreements with the major players in the space industry. A small portion of his remains, along with many other clients, were attached to an Earth-orbiting satellite.

We went to Florida for the first commercial launch of the Falcon Heavy, on June 25, 2019. The 2AM launch lit the sky like a rising sun. The mural depicts the launch.

The satellite has completed its mission and will be deorbited in another few years. Celestis will let us know when this happens.
