Our son Glen was taken from us by melanoma in 2015 at the age of 25.
At one point during the ten days we had him home for hospice, he said that he wanted his remains to go to space.
We figured it out. A company called Celestis has agreements with the major players in the space industry to attach small portions of remains to Earth-orbiting satellites, moon missions and solar missions.
We went to Florida for the first commercial launch of the Falcon Heavy, on June 25, 2019. The 2AM launch lit the sky like a rising sun. The mural depicts the launch.
Our satellite, STP-2, has completed its mission and will be deorbited in another few years. Celestis will let us know when this happens.
